Hey there I’m Gary Shuster. This is Innovation Cafe, and I want to talk with you briefly about how to deal with your own health care. Well, it turns out that professionals are busy. Not surprising. And when you go to the doctor, they want to look at what’s going on, make an analysis and then get on to the next patient. Also understandable, but that also means that they’re not creative when thinking about what might be happening. So here are some tips: If you don’t think you’re getting a good enough answer. If you don’t feel you’ve been completely listened to, make sure to ask them “can you take a couple more minutes? Let me explain some additional things.”
Also, generative AI like ChatGPT is amazing for giving you questions to ask, so tell it. Here are my symptoms. I’m going to go see the doctor. which questions should I ask her? Of course it’s really critical to make sure you do your own analysis and your own thinking. Does it make sense, what this doctor is suggesting? Silly things like am I sure this person hasn’t confused me with another patient. And so approach it like you would approach any other problem. Make sure that there’s creativity being thrown it at it. Make sure that you’re not going with your first guess. Until next time, catch you.
